Hello and welcome to Macquarie College (aka MC). Starting Kindergarten and finding the right school is a huge milestone and we are here to help you along your journey. We would love for you to have a look through this page and book a Principal’s Tour to start your child’s educational journey at MC.

MC is a leading faith-based school in the Newcastle and Hunter Region for students Preschool to Year 12. As Kindergarten is a time of discovery and learning—we provide a wide variety of innovative opportunities that stimulate and engage. Give your Kindy child their best start with our research-based approach to learning.

Our educational approach

We create innovative educational experiences through play-based educational learning. Kindergarten students at MC are involved in many different forms of play as they begin their formal education journey. Research shows that play-based learning stimulates and enhances students’ physical, social and academic development. Outdoor play, movement activities and hands-on experiences through play-based learning encourages growth mindsets such as trial and error, teamwork, problem solving and creativity.

Academic excellence is further developed through our commitment to regular literacy and numeracy sessions that are often enhanced by play-based learning.

Macquarie College — innovative learning begins here!

Happy Parents Say

One of the most important decisions we make as parents is the school we select for our children's education.

I made the right decision sending our twin girls to Macquarie College. The teachers have outstanding commitment and show a real and genuine interest in the children. The Kindy program has excellent numeracy and literacy programs while upholding a play-based learning environment. My girls have particularly enjoyed Messy Fridays – a day in which the children build gross motor skills and explore the world around them in the bush garden. My girls are thriving and the whole family has benefitted from the values which are instilled into our children and the supportive school community
